What’s so good about the Brother SE400 computerized sewing machine?

Similar to its predecessor, it has the same exact features as the Brother SE350. See a side by side comparison of Brother SE 400 and Brother SE 350 It has the same functionality, size, and it even looks the same. So, what makes this product so special from the SE350? Well I’ve contemplated this question also before I decided to pull the trigger on buying it.

What sets it apart is it has the convenience of the computer connectivity. Although this might not seem very special to you, wait until I show you why this sewing machine has changed embroidering forever.

What this PC connectivity allows you to do is to upload your own embroidery designs from your computer or web, straight to your sewing machine.

With the built-in computer connectivity, you are able to achieve a high-end look for your projects very easily. This has saved  me hours of time from tedious work. With the computer connection, you will even be able to have  immediate updates for your sewing device which allows access to new features and fixes.

Although it comes with only 512 kb of memory, you are always able to install a compatible memory card fo

r extra memory.  With this new level of sewing machine technology, you can relax while watching the Brother SE400 embroidery machine make your designs for you!

Another  feature that surprised me is that it came with 70 built-in embroidery designs with over a hundred different monogramming fonts and pattern combinations pre-installed for you! It might sound complicated, but it was extremely  easy to navigate the menu and features through an LCD touch screen display.

For even more convenience, it comes with an easy bobbin winding system and push-button automatic threading system. You can also reflect and rotate the embroidery design up to 90 degrees.

The final design came out neat and what I expected. The stitches aligned very well without any effort. The only problem I had was that a needle broke after continued use. The bobbin also got tangled for a second. The needle was easily replaced and I just untangled the bobbin and I was right back on track.

It comes bundled with a lot of accessories, including a medium sized hoop and a USB cord for computer access. The manuals and instructions are very easy to read even for a child. The structure of it is very small and compact. It is lightweight and has a handle at the top for quick portability.

The Amazon reviews are exceptionally good and I’ve noticed that all of the reviews stated how easy it was to use. That’s a score in my book.

Overall, this is an amazingly high-tech, yet convenient and easy sewing machine.  I had a Brother SE350 prior to this and the one feature that the SE350 didn’t have, gave birth to a new revolutionary sewing machine that is well worth the price. With this sewing machine, you will have convenience and simple, yet effective technology all in one.

Pros: Has USB port for computer connectivity for fast design uploads. Very fast and easy to use and even has great built-in designs incase you don’t want to upload your own. Small and lightweight; I like to bring it to my work office and stitch on my free time!

Cons: The accessories are plastic and can be flimsy at times. Over time, several needs will break and the bobbin will get tangled. Not much of a problem as they are easily fixable.

It can also be a great gift for people of all ages as the manuals are extremely easy to read and the functions are laid out perfectly for accessibility. For $350, I highly recommend the Brother SE400 Sewing Machine for very easy and fun embroidering.
